In a chilling reminder that corruption and despotism is not just a problem with the Democratic Party, Georgia Republicans engaged in a shocking act of tyranny today by arresting a state senator for trying to enter a session in progress on January 16, 2025.
Bruce LeVell, advisor to President Donald Trump, writes on X:
Colton Moore, a loyal, hardworking, pro-Trump Georgia State Senator, was handcuffed and arrested by the House Speaker after attempting to attend the State of the State session to fulfill his duties.
Previously suspended from the GOP caucus for helping lead the charge to end the corruption of Fani Willis, Moore tried to enter the chamber but was physically blocked from doing so. Law enforcement and guards were stationed outside the door, and when he attempted to proceed, he was wrestled to the ground.

LeVell also added:
@realColtonMoore was just arrested because Speaker Burns demanded he apologize for refusing to vote in favor of naming a building after former Speaker David Ralston
Ralston, a Republican, died in 2022. Critics accuse Moore of making “disparaging remarks” against Ralston.
