Dear No Kings Protestors: You Don't Speak for the Country

What part of "you lost the election" do you not understand?

Dear Democrats:

Pardon me for being blunt here, but someone needs to say it. As kindly as possible: Get off your high horse.

While I can only truly speak for myself, I am fairly sure I also speak for many other Trump voters (and even non-Trump voters) who are sick of your hypocrisy. I'm writing because you don't seem to get it. You'll probably still won't get it, so this is more of a catharsis for the rest of us.

Many of you are acquaintances and neighbors, or people we used to be friends with, but now tiptoe around because of your political intolerance. We try to steer clear of you as best we can, since you're volatile and ready to blow at the smallest thing.

Usually, we Trump voters just keep our mouths shut in polite company, because it's not worth the grief we'll get if we say anything political. Also, believe it or not, our lives do not revolve around politics, and we actually just want to relax and chill once in a while...without making every damn thing an opportunity for a political statement.

Not so with today's Democrats. In line at the grocery store? Rolling your mat up after yoga class? Chilling at the neighbor BBQ? On a Zoom call for an online course? INEVITABLY one of you will drop a thrice-warmed-over cow patty into the punch bowl and make some sort of crass or hateful statement about Trump or MAGA.

There you are, talking about the benefits of using cotton instead of polyester yarn in a knitting circle, and one of you will suddenly spout without warning: "I REALLY HATE TRUMP! I mean, I just can't stand him!"

Or, you add some virtue signaling into the mix: "Gosh, I'm so upset that Trump is hurting those migrant families, it's makes me so sad." (Says well-off suburban woman who then drives back to her empty 5-bedroom home in a massive gas guzzling SUV.)

Just stop it.

God forbid we try to engage in any substantive discussion on the issues at hand, as you will suddenly start yelling and just chant "whataboutism" until we give up in disgust. We just don't bother anymore. You cannot be reasoned with.

You want to know why you were so shocked that Trump won this time around? Because the silent majority, of which MAGAs are just a part, just inwardly roll our eyes and blankly nod at your constant political posturing now. We have learned the hard way that any attempt at politely expressing an alternative opinion could get us into some major grief, ranging from (on the mild side) you snapping our faces off to (on the extreme side) your writing a complaint to HR about how "unsafe" we make you feel at work.

It's not worth it, because you cannot and will not listen.

You are like an alcoholic in denial who immediately gets emotionally abusive at the slightest whiff of criticism.

You think you are smarter and more informed than MAGA people, but I've never seen such blind ignorance in my life than I have in today's Democrats. And I used to be a Democrat, much like many other Trump voters. We left because you became cult-like and intolerant.

I mean it when I say most of you are abusive. The average Democrat is now absolutely, unequivocally abusive to anyone who slightly disagrees with them.

You also don't make any sense anymore. This "No Kings" protest - what exactly are you trying to say? That the United States somehow isn't a democracy anymore because your candidate didn't win? Hello! The rest of us VOTED FOR TRUMP. We won, you lost. FULL STOP (as you so annoying say all the time).

MAGA not only won the electoral college in a landslide, MAGA won the popular vote too!

Are you living in an alternate reality? Because unless you want to claim that we cheated - which you told us in the 2020 election was impossible, since the United States apparently has the "most secure elections" ever in the history of the multiverse, you have ZERO GROUNDS to tell the rest of us that you "stand for democracy."

You do not stand for democracy whatsoever. You are openly calling for the removal of our elected president. Don't pretend you aren't.

You are actively denying our voice and acting as if our vote doesn't matter at all. How DARE you say you stand for democracy? No, you don't. You stand for one-party rule.

Now, I know you don't like or respect the Electoral College, but it's there for "democracy" to help all states have an equal voice. As such, the 2024 presidential election was NOT EVEN CLOSE and you really have no right to dictate to the rest of us - or Trump, for that matter.

You have NO RIGHT to tell the rest of the country that we need to put up with criminal illegal aliens abusing our borders to smuggle in drugs and God knows what else. We voted against that. YOU LOST.

Your efforts to impede ICE are not just antidemocratic, it's sedition and possibly full-blown treason. Yet, because you live in America and not North Korea, you can still aid and abet foreign invaders without worrying about getting publicly hanged for said treason. And yet you honestly think Trump is a dictator? He's being kind and patient with your foolishness.

The Democrats and the left in general have become arrogant, tone deaf, smug, and outright violent.

And yet you have the nerve to wave around signs claiming you are on the side of "morality." No, you are not moral. Bussing in illegal immigrants so you can obtain permanent power and one-party rule is not moral. Encouraging poor people in South America to risk rape and death and traverse dangerous jungles to illegal enter the USA is not moral. It's not even kind. It's also stupid public policy.

Seriously, you honestly think the best solution to the problems of other countries is to DRAIN those countries of all their people and move them here?

But you don't really care about those people. I've overheard you in restaurants - you really do look down on immigrants and see them as cheap labor for your lawncare.

One more thing: You aren't for freedom either. Oh, you can go on and on all you like about "no dictators" and "free speech" but when push came to shove during the COVID pandemic, you were the first ones to cheer on state-pressured social media censorship, insane lockdowns, and mandatory jabs. In blue states like California, your leadership did utterly ridiculous things like fill skateparks with sand and go after solo surfers in Malibu, as if somehow the 'Rona was going to spread to dolphins or something.

You are totally in favor of authoritarianism and censorship when it benefits your own side, don't pretend you aren't.

In short, you are 100% hypocrites.

Will any of you reading this finally wake up and realize that the reason you lost the 2024 election is your own shitty behavior? That we weren't voting for Trump so much as voting against YOU?

Probably not.

But hey, I feel a little better writing this.

Because I'm the quiet person sitting next to you in yoga class that you don't realize voted for Trump.
